Lisa and James met in a Dale Carnegie public speaking class at their workplace, Granite Telecommunications, in April of 2018. While the class was intended to make them more confident public speakers, some of the assignments were personal and gave them insight into one another without knowing each other yet. Over the next few months, they would lock eyes across the conference room, the fluorescent lighting creating the perfect ambiance, until Lisa made her first move. Their mutual friend Kaleigh was on James' team at the time and knew about Lisa's crush on James. Lisa began making her subtle moves by asking Kaleigh and James if they wanted afternoon coffee -- the riskiest type of interoffice emails. Their outings escalated to an Ed Sheeran concert with Kaleigh and their other co-worker Keane. Lisa made her first (without other people) move, and asked James out for a drink, and the rest is history. Over the last 5 years, they have created an amazing life together -- they have moved twice, traveled to multiple places across the US, Europe, and Mexico, and added the cutest English Bulldog Pippa to their family. James proposed on August 19th. While Lisa was expecting the proposal to occur that weekend, she was unaware of when or how. They took their usual weekend trip to Lisa's favorite coffee shop in the Seaport district and went for a sunny walk along the water. Upon arriving home, flowers, photos and the ring were placed on their counter. James organized an intimate engagement party at a local Italian restaurant where they were able to celebrate with their closest family and friends. Lisa and James look forward to building on their story with their most favorite people in Stowe!
